Diane von Furstenberg gives away her 4 best fashion tips. The first tips to balance prints with solids, for example you can mix any solid with a printed bag, and vice versa. Her second tip is to be catty. She says that nothing is more flattering or as feminim as leopard print. Diane’s third tip is to get moving, she says the print on your dress moves when you try it on and looks different from when it’s hanging on a hanger. Moving can make you look either bigger or smaller. Her fourth and final tip is to combine similare-color patterns. An easy way to do that is to put on several pieces from one collection. DVF says “Right now everything is black and white and cobalt blue, so the colors harmonize.”

This past summer it was basically impossible to find a cute pair of Swedish hasbeens. Luckily H&M has launched three different styles for everyone that missed out last year! But be quick they will surely sell out quickly. H&M is selling an array of different styles including the classic wood-soled sandal, an ankle-strapped wedge and a slightly more granny-chic, snakeskin looking lace-up. They hit stores internationally on April 20th and will cost $60 to $70.
It’s all about sequins and metallics and we have four fabulous ways we love to wear them. Silver, gold, bronze, copper and other metallic colors are great because they match everything! Metallic and sequin accessories are most appropriate for day wear, whereas larger metallic pieces shine at night. If you want an all over glamorous look a sequin or metallic dress or jacket is perfect. If you want to go with a more modest approach try this trend out on your handbag or shoes. I was walking through the Macy’s in Herald Square the other day when a section of clothes caught my eye, the Rachel Roy collection. It was love at first sight. Rachel Roy dresses are sexy, cute, and flirty, all at the same time. It’s really hard for a single piece of clothing to be all three, but Rachel Roy nails it. The best part about the collection is that Roy really understands a woman’s shape. I bought the Dart Dress and all of my friends have been going absolutely crazy about the dress, asking me constantly, “Where did you buy that dress?”
I absolutely love the color of this dress and it was only $99! Rachel Roy clothes all look super expensive, but are quite affordable. The new dress that I want to bring your attention to though is the Chunky Chain Dress ($109).
I love this dress because it’s a little punk and a little lady-like. Even if you’re not punk, you can pull it off and even if you’re not the cutesy type (which is me), you can pull it off. You can dress it down with a pair of casual boots for a shopping trip around 5th avenue or you can dress it up with a pair of sexy heels to go out at night! Haute PR loves versatility so this dress is perfect.
One of my favorite clothing brands is TART, which I discovered on Gilt (excellent website). I now own many shirts from TART and my favorite dress that I own is from there as well. My favorite part about the clothes is that the material is always high quality and so comfortable against my skin. I was surfing on the web yesterday and saw this gorgeous dress from the summer 2010 collection of TART. I think it’s stunning and perfect for the summer (vibrant colors and print, how could you say no). Not to mention how much I love off-the-shoulder clothes.
